How Beatport charts decide who gets seen

Beatport promotion works differently from promotion on streaming platforms, because Beatport is a store for DJs. A track climbs when people buy it, and the chart only looks at recent purchases. Sales from the last seven days count. Older ones drop out of the calculation.

This is why release week matters more than anything that comes later. A track that sells well in its first days shows up in the genre chart, DJs browsing that chart find it, and some of them buy it too. A track that sells the same amount over two months never appears anywhere.

Our Beatport campaigns are built around that window. Each one runs on paid Google ads shown to people who already buy music on Beatport, and it starts while the release is fresh. For the longer explanation with examples, read our Beatport chart strategy guide.

Which Beatport chart are you aiming for?

  • Genre Top 100 for tracks. The main chart of every genre and the one DJs check first. Beatport Top 100 promotion covers 26 genres. A track usually gets in within 1 to 2 days in lighter genres and 2 to 3 days in most others.
  • Hype chart. A separate chart for smaller labels that take part in Beatport Hype. Competition is lower, so in crowded genres a track often starts here. See the Hype chart campaign.
  • Release chart. Ranks whole releases, not single tracks. Use the Top 100 releases campaign for an EP with two to six tracks.
  • Daily push. Keeps a charting track moving up, one day at a time, and carries a Hype track toward the genre chart. Details are on the Beatport Daily Push page.

Choose a campaign by where your track is today

The right service depends on the genre, the release date and what the track has done so far. Find your situation in the list.

  • Single coming out this week. Top 100 Tracks, 26 genres, $350 to $899. The price depends on the genre.
  • Single in a crowded genre such as House or Afro House, on a small label. Start with the Hype chart campaign, $499, then add Daily Push.
  • EP with two to six tracks. Top 100 Genre Releases, $350 to $500.
  • Track already in the chart and starting to slip. Daily Push, from $169 for one day.
  • You want to run the release yourself. The Beatport Top 100 guide in PDF, $15.

Why the genre changes the price

Every genre on Beatport has its own Top 100, and they are not equally hard to enter. House and Afro House are among the most crowded. Big labels release there every week, so a new name needs more support to be noticed.

Dubstep, Deep Dubstep / Grime, Breaks and Psy-Trance are less crowded. Fewer releases compete for the same hundred places, so a track gets in faster, often within 1 to 2 days, and a campaign costs less.

That difference is the only reason prices vary. The work is the same, the amount of it is not. On the Beatport Top 100 Tracks page, pick your genre to see its price, from $350 for Dubstep to $899 for Afro House.

FAQ

Do you guarantee a position in the Top 100?
For Top 100 Tracks, if your track does not make the Top 100, we refund the order. In our years of running Beatport campaigns this has happened very rarely. We do not promise a number one or a top ten spot, because nobody controls what other labels release that week.
When is the best time to order?
A few days before the release date, or during the first week after it. The chart counts recent sales only, so a late start gives the track less time.
Can you promote a track that came out months ago?
Top 100 campaigns are made for new releases. For an older track write to support first and we will tell you honestly if a campaign makes sense.
Is the Beatport Hype chart worth it?
For a small label, usually yes. Fewer tracks compete there, and a strong Hype position helps a track cross into the main genre chart.
How fast does a track get into the chart?
We start within 24 hours of receiving your order. In lighter genres a track usually enters the Top 100 within 1 to 2 days, in most other genres within 2 to 3 days.
How do your Beatport campaigns work?
Every campaign runs on paid Google ads shown to people who already buy music on Beatport. We keep testing the campaigns on tracks by unknown artists to make sure they still bring results.
Which Beatport genres can you promote?
26 genres, from Afro House to UK Garage / Bassline. Techno and Tech House are not available. The full list with prices is on the Top 100 Tracks page.
Do you need access to my Beatport or label account?
No. A public link to the release is enough.
Can I promote a whole EP?
Yes. The release chart campaign covers EPs with two to six tracks.
How do I check the result?
We send you a report with proof of placement. The genre chart on Beatport is also public and updates every day.
