Whether you are looking for engaging electronic music shows or dance music performances, you'll find an event to attend. However, despite having dozens of music festivals in the world and especially, in Europe, it's complicated to find an event that represents preferred artists or has a desired atmosphere.
Music festivals planned in Europe this summer will cover various genres, including electronic music, hip hop, and rock. The stage will be taken by major artists and DJs, including Tyler, The Creator, Sabrina Carpenter, A$AP Rocky, Papa Roach, Martin Garrix, Armin van Buuren, Billie Eilish, Calvin Harris, and others. Some music festivals haven’t announced their lineups yet, but we expect some huge names there.
Why do we publish the summer fest compilation in March? Such events take months to organize and prepare, as we don’t know who’ll join them till the last moment. Still, if the number of festivals you choose from is reduced to 10, it's much easier to make a decision. In our article, we present the 10 best music festivals. With the world's top DJs, genre veterans, and future stars, they became the largest festivals in Europe. Keep reading, as we will tell more about performances that make the world's music go wild.

Summerburst in Gothenburg, Sweden

Scandinavians know how to have fun and organize large-scale music events. Summerburst in Gothenburg is solid proof of that, as it's one of the largest music festivals in Europe. The first festival took place at Stockholm's Olympic Stadium with a total attendance of 13,000 guests. The headline artists, including David Guetta and Avicii, delivered an outstanding performance, making the crowd go crazy. In 2014, the festival set an absolute record, with more than 100,000 guests in two locations, Gothenburg and Stockholm.
Despite being canceled in 2023 (organizers decided to focus on other events), Summerburst remains one of the most impactful European music festivals, featuring top-tier musicians and creating an atmosphere of celebration all the time.
Primavera Sound in Barcelona: June 4-8, 2025

Primavera Sound originally started in Barcelona in 2001 as a local music festival. Since then, it has turned into one of the most popular events on the continent. This year, it will also take place in Barcelona, from June 4 to June 8. All 4 days will be intense, as dozens of artists from various genres will be present on the stages. LCD Soundsystem, Amelie Lens, Sabrina Carpenter (everyone knows about Espresso, right?), and other musicians will step on the stage during one of the biggest festivals. Tickets are already on sale for both default and VIP sectors.
Ultra Music Festival Europe: July 11-13, 2025

All fans of electronic music may find the Ultra Music Festival one of the most exciting events of the year. The best musicians will gather in one place for three days to deliver outstanding performances and make the crowd go crazy. Solomun, John Summit, Martin Garrix, the legend of the electronic genre, and other top artists will satisfy fans. For example, Hardwell, a DJ from the Netherlands, is in 12th place in the DJ Mag Top rating. Musicians will perform on two stages: the Ultra Main Stage and the Resistance Stage. If you have already booked tickets and are looking for accommodation, Ultra Europe is partnering with Travel2Ultra, a traveling partner that offers multiple options for guests. Hotels, villas, hostels, apartments, and even mobile homes are available for those who come to enjoy the show. If you weren't able to book a place to stay, this is your go-to option!

Electric Beach Festival: July 14-16, France

Footage from the previous year's festival
Every year, in the middle of July, people gather in Barcarès, France, to enjoy driving music and feel the great atmosphere of one of the greatest festivals in Europe. The scale of the show rises every year, bringing new faces and showing there's something for everyone. The festival has already invited top-level stars like David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Adrien Toma, and others. Each of the three days is intense and passes at a high pace. Still, the 2025 lineup is yet to be announced. Since the 2024 edition of the festival was canceled, fans expect the 2025 show to be better than the previous interactions.

Sometimes, music festivals don’t perform well because of weak promotion and overall presence. Still, when they receive proper promotion, maximizing reach and impacting streaming performance, solid progress has been noticed. With our impact, Aurora Soundwave Festival has turned into a solid music brand in Central Europe.
Tomorrowland: July 25-27, 2025, Belgium
Tomorrowland is the kind of event that doesn't need a special introduction. Every year, this event stands out as a top European music festival, gathering thousands of music lovers worldwide. Organizers not only gather top-rated artists from different genres but also create the whole concept of the show. Tickets are already sold out in all formats, including worldwide sales and pre-sale. Global journey travel packages are sold out as well. Soon, those who purchased the tickets will gather in Boom, Belgium, to feel the celebrative atmosphere and listen to high-quality music.

South West Four Festival (SW4): London, United Kingdom, 2025
Traditionally, the South West Four Festival claimed to be the biggest event in London’s clubbing calendar, will be held in the capital of the United Kingdom one more time. The main focus is on electronic music, including techno, drum and bass, and other electronic dance music (EDM) genres. Even though the major performers haven't been announced, we remember that previous festivals featured Skrillex, Fatboy Slim, and Pendulum. The first SW4 festival was organized in 2014, and since then, it has faced major changes.
Sundown Festival 2025 (Canceled)
Sundown Festival, set as one of the biggest music events in European culture, will not return for 2025.
"What started as humble beginnings grew into a five-stage camping festival, partnering with iconic music brands and artists, surviving a pandemic, and even taking Sundown to Malta. We want to express our deepest gratitude… Most of all, a huge thank you to our fans—you've been the heartbeat of Sundown. Your energy, passion, and memories have made everything possible, and we'll never forget the moments we shared together," says the statement from the official website. Before 2013, the festival was named Norfolk Spectacular, but later, the name was officially changed to Sundown Festival, as we know it today.
The decision to cancel the festival for 2025 was made due to multiple reasons, according to the organizers. They were no longer able to deliver the performance of the highest standards. The major reasons were the rising costs of production and the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.
Superbloom Festival: August 30 & 31, 2025
We are going to Munich once again, as this beautiful city will hold another major festival. Everything will happen at Olympiapark & Olympiastadion and will bring together fans of multiple genres: pop, rock, electronic, and alternative. Moreover, there will be numerous art performances and activities.

The lineup features top-tier musicians, including Post Malone, Conan Gray, Souly, Wasia Project, and others. Olympiapark will be transformed into a multi-sector venue with different locations for visitors. Natural designs will be combined with large-scale stage decorations. It's going to be not just an average singing performance; it will be a high-intensity event. If you already have tickets, consider arriving early, as there are going to be crowds in Munich that day. If you haven't got your tickets yet, book them as soon as possible, as the prices may rise.
What Music Festival to Attend?
Attending all music festivals doesn't sound realistic. However, if you want to see your favorite artists on Europe's best stages, check the lineup first. Some artists like Post Malone will step on the stage multiple times, so make sure you'll have a chance to attend these events. Moreover, it's not only a chance to hear your favorite music live. It's a chance to visit great European cities you've never been to.
